NEET 2018: How to Prepare for NEET in One Year

NEET is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. It is a single examination that has replaced all other medical entrance examination. Around 10 lakh students every year give this entrance for 1 lakh medical seats. So, no doubt about it that this examination is poses a tough competition.


As we all know any exam is cracked not only by hard work but also by smart work. NEET syllabus is like an ocean. There are huge topics that you have to cover in 1 year and get ready for the test. It comprises of-

Physics
Chemistry
Biology

These subjects include around 13,000 concepts that you have to complete in a year. You must be aware of topics because it all are from your 12th class syllabus. This is high time to start your preparation.

So, what is the effective schedule to prepare for this test is listed below-

Strict Timetable- This is a primary step of preparing for any exam. Make a timetable according to your requirement i.e. where are you weak means you have to focus more and where is your strong point where you have to practice. Don’t forget while making time table that you have to complete 2 years syllabus in 1 year. You can divide your portion in 3-3 hrs time slot. By this way you will cover your syllabus in time too and will get time for revision also. And in last but not least don’t forget to have time for fun because it will refresh you.

      Starts from Basics- If you start you preparation from basics then this will help you in clearing you concept. Once the concept is clear then the topic will appear easy to you. After that you can more focus on important chapters and will get time to study best books of NCERTs also.  ( Make your own notes, start with NCERT books, list all formulas and revise them daily, make important chapters list separately).

      Practice Regularly- Practice daily because Practice makes a man perfect. The big benefit behind practicing daily is that you will not forget and your speed of solving question will also increase. Daily practicing will help you in knowing where you are good and where you are lagging behind. (Daily solves test papers, work on you weaknesses, mark difficult questions and give some extra time).

      Take Full Length tests- This will boost up your preparation. Giving full length test will help you preparing for exam and maintaining speed. This will gives you an idea how to solve question paper in exams. As the time passes this will increase your confidence by reducing exam fear. (Take mock tests, practice tests, analyze the result and focus on your weak points).

      Daily Revision- It is important to revise what you have covered earlier. This will decrease extra pressure during peak hours. (Daily revises formulas, chemical equations, derivations of formulas, mechanisms, give special attention to weak and difficult topics).

This is all a candidate needs before starting his studies for any exam. But this all according to every student, you have to make your own strategy, your own plans for getting success. Attempt daily a mock test and analyze your performance after test this will improve your scores.
